Two Little Peasant Dresses
Pattern #: Simplicity 5118
Pattern #: Simplicity 5118
I finished the dresses! (well about a week ago)
These peasant dresses I made are gathered at the neck but not at the sleeve.
A-line cut with a contrasting ruffle at the bottom. To "tie it off", I added a tie to the back to make the dress look more fitted for the smaller built child.
Fabrics to use: Gingham, Laundered Cottons, Calico, Chambray, Lightweight Denim and Seersucker. You only need about 1-1 1/4 yards of Fabric to make it with, 3/4 yds of 1/2" wide Elastic.
The Peasant Dress is very easy to make. There are several different embellishments/styles but this to me is the most simplistic of them all.
The different styles include, buttons on the front, gathered sleeves, ribbon across the front with a bow and a "strap" gathered sleeve. This pattern can be used for a dress, top or nightgown.
If you and/or a friend is interested in making this dress, top or nightgown please email me @ nelsonjeneen(at)gmail(dot)com.
This would be a two session (a session being 2 hours) class for $15.00. You would provide your own fabric and thread, that is if you have a hard fabric to match.

Note: I had forgotten to take pictures of the two dresses before I gave them to my neighbor, Emily. So therefore I was only able to get a picture of one of the girls at church.
